We respect our ancestors, ourselves, and those to come after. We exemplify the true meaning of the Seven Generations by maintaining our integrity as a people. We know our great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and have stories, songs, and photos shared to connect the generation that preceded us through our parents.
We also want to make sure our kids and grandkids are secure with paved roads, in good health, confident, and aware of their ancestors. We are accountable to all seven generations to maintain our stories and lifestyle for hundreds of years to come.
We take care of our families by keeping the stories alive, by memories, and by considering all Seven Generations. Each generation is responsible for maintaining, learning, and protecting the ancestors of those before us. We will be here and alive with our community for millennia.
I created this series of children’s books as a part of my generational contribution. As a Native American author and artist, I am contributing to multicultural literature that serves as a powerful tool in enabling students to better understand both their own culture and the cultures of others. Through this more profound knowledge of our people, relationships can be strengthened, bridging the gap between students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Please support these books by spreading the word on the importance of Native Americans in the conversation of multicultural literature.
